Antolin
The City Library manages the Antolin licenses and accounts for the classes at the Chur City School.
Author Readings
Every year after the fall break, author readings are held in collaboration with lesenGR. Authors present their latest books and offer insights into their writing and their work.
The readings are mandatory for the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 7th-grade classes at Stadtschule Chur.
Library Visits & Tours
Classes can visit the library on their own – with or without a guided tour. Upon request, we can prepare new releases, reading animations, or materials for independent work.
For classes from schools outside the Stadtschule Chur, a fee of CHF 50.00 will be charged.
Library Cards
All students at Stadtschule Chur receive a library card starting in first grade. This card allows them to check out up to two books at a time. Teachers receive a Biblio-GA.
Boxes of Books
For classroom use, age-appropriate book boxes containing 30, 50, or 75 items can be put together. They can be picked up at the library or delivered. For the Stadtschule Chur, coordination is handled by the school administration.
Bookworm
The Bookworm is a programme for Cycle 1 which include 30 picture books and non-fiction books on selected topics such as friendship, courage, and the forest. The programme is also available in Romansh.
Quiet Reading Hours
Regular quiet reading sessions give school classes the opportunity to read in a quiet environment and immerse themselves in books. Appointments for the upcoming school year can be scheduled starting in June.
Themed Tours
A themed guided tour is offered once a year for kindergarten classes and 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 8th-grade classes at the Stadtschule Chur. The tour lasts about an hour and includes a reading activity.
