Chess Club
The SchachTreff is aimed at adults and teens ages 15 and up and consists of a progressive, year-long chess course for beginners, as well as a parallel tactics and strategy course for advanced players. Both courses are designed and led by Dani Roth, youth chess instructor at the Chur Chess Club.
You can join the course at any time. To enroll in the beginner's course, you must have a basic understanding of chess. You can find out what these are in the Guide for Beginners to Chess can be reviewed. This allows you to acquire the necessary foundational knowledge on your own before the course begins. Prerequisites for the advanced course include prior knowledge of the following tactical topics: pinning, double attack, opposition, check, and multiple exchanges.
The official part of the chess meetup lasts one hour each time. Anyone who would like to play a casual game of chess afterward or has questions is welcome to stay longer.
